Hard days are hard. That's the simple truth, isn't it? We have our bad days, and we have our good days. Regardless of whether or not you believe it, your emotions and feelings are 100% valid, important, and significant. I challenge you to give yourself permission to believe this: it is okay that you are feeling this way, feelings are only temporary, and you will get through this. Tough days may turn into tough weeks, months, and even years -- but they also create tough people. You are strong, you are brave. You are supported, you are so dearly loved. You are important, you are cherished. Take a deep breath through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and let your body go as you exhale slowly through your mouth.
You can do this, I believe in you. We all believe in you. Let's be brave together, shall we?
But, aren't they the same thing? Nope, they are not. Allow me to explain:
Giving yourself the freedom to "power-off" simply means you are allowing yourself to take a break, a mental vacation away from your thoughts and feelings for a bit. "Powering-down", however, is kind of the opposite -- when you "power-down", you are letting your body relax, but your mind is still running like the wind in order to help "restart" your mind, which does not allow for any sort of mental vacation.
