A Simple Introduction to a Simple Lifestyle: Minimalism

Hey, what is minimalism, anyway? So many people are talking about it, but what is actually included in this strange new lifestyle? How do I live minimally? Do I have to give away everything? Well, in this blog, I'd like to share with you my opinion toward minimalism and what it truly means in a mindful perspective.

Ah, minimalism. What a concept. Living a care-free life without any thing (literally) to worry about. But... wait a second: isn't minimalism just a made up lifestyle that wild-haired hippies and gypsies personify because they don't really have any money?

Well, first of all, not all hippies have wild hair. Some say it's the freedom that flows through their locks as they ride their way to Nirvana with the windows rolled down; others say it's a lack of personal hygiene. 

With all joking aside, however (and to all the hippies who are reading this: you are loved unconditionally and I'm a fan of your hair), minimalism isn't simply a growing trend. The way I see it, minimalism isn't really a lifestyle; it's a choice. That is, it's a choice to give up physical possessions in order to practice mindfulness without so many distractions. It is a decision to change for the bettering of your well-being.

In this article, I want to provide an easy, comprehensible resource for any curious humans who want to know a little more about this lifestyle. I'll try my best to lay out the basics, but just remember: minimalism is a choice! No one can ever tell you how to live your life, even if it feels like that sometimes.
